Ataireachd Ard means the surge of the sea and the cottage has magnificent views over
the sea, river and hills beyond. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. The cottage
enjoys all the benefits of a village location with plenty to occupy visitors both
locally and further afield. There are easy walks around the harbour and town, beach
walks beside the golf links and to Golspie (passing a Broch and Dunrobin Castle).
For the more energetic, a short drive will take visitors to many of our northern
mountains. The front garden of the cottage is an excellent vantage point for the
many sea birds which visit the shore and river; seals and otters can also be seen
from here. Sports enthusiasts can choose from tennis, bowling, swimming (Marine Hotel
or Golspie), loch and river fishing, cycling and mountain biking. Alternatively play
the world famous James Braid 18 hole golf course which stretches far along the sandy
beach to the north of the cottage or watch Brora Rangers on a Saturday afternoon.
The cottage is very roomy and sleeps 7 (plus babies); pets are negotiable. There
are night-storage heaters throughout and additional electric heaters and a coal fire
for cosy evenings. There is a landline telephone and broadband internet access with
Downstairs there is a modern fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washer/drier,
dining room with wood floor, sitting room with open fire and smart TV (freeview channels
and internet) and bathroom with electric shower and bath. Upstairs there are 3 bright
bedrooms, a kingsize bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet, a double bedroom
and a triple bedroom with three single beds.
Outside there is a sunny walled garden to the rear with grass and a paved area with
barbeque. The large garden at the front overlooks the sea and River Brora, providing
an ideal picnic spot for warm summer days.
